FLYING TIME

WOW! Time flies when you're busy. And busy is what I've been. Sorry to be away so long  but just a quick update to let all of my blog family know that I really appreciate you stopping by and visiting me when you can. All of you are a true inspiration to keep those creative waters flowing.
I'll make it snappy so here goes... Since October this is whats been happening and I mean this is just the "core" of it all not those other things that surround a life.

1.  Fall Festival
2. I did a total remake of my Mothers kitchen, painting walls, cabinets, and laying new floor YAY!
3.  Thanksgiving Dinner for about 60 hungry pilgrims.
4. Christmas Parade Float Decor
5. Christmas Parade other stuff that goes with it.
6. Helped put together a beautiful wedding for  dear friend.
7. Directed and Spearheaded the Munchkin MInistry while transporting children to and from,  and entertaining two Nursing Home Fascilities.
8. Wrote, Directed and Produced an awesome Christmas Play, Danger in the Manger with a wonderful cast of 16.

Okay, now this doesn't involve the furniture revamps and ornament making, and hair doing, and house cleaning that goes on in between.

WHEW! and guess what?  NOW I'M SICK!

All I want is for someone to come  to my house and bake me some sugar cookies that look like snowmen and santa with a cute little candy cane. Honestly, please come, DO IT YOURSELF , don't ask me where anything is...look for it.....then pour me a tall glass of cold milk ( fat free) and join me as I celebrate my most beloved season of all.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL.................REMEMBER JESUS AS YOU CELEBRATE. J

                                             SEE YOU NEXT YEAR

This one is really NOT Stained but it's wet. Snapped the photo after I sprayed with water to iron it. Oops!
Down below is a photo of a few little beanies I've made from left over Christmas Giftings that I made for all of my family. I mean EVERYONE had pink polka dot beannies. This was several years ago so I would saya this is the gift that keeps on giving.

Come back really soon because I plan to have more stuff for you to eyeball and just maybe it will inspire you to get creative. Make something- share it with someone, then go do it again. Oh, you say you just aren't crafty? Well, I believe deep down inside of you there is a glue gun King or Queen just waiting to escape. Go ahead, pick up that Glue Gun, and make your day! See ya!

Yesterday was the first day of Fall! I love this time of year and I usually wait around too long to begin my fall projects. However, this year I've made a determined effort to beat the rush. You've seen my cute little , or should I say BIG screcrow from paper mache, and now let me introduce you to this cutie. It's made from cereal boxes. The windows are actually transparancies cut to size and then painted yellow. There is a light in the back so it illuminates a festive glow. The house began as a Winter House last year but never made the grade but after sitting on the shelf for such a long time I think it deserves a great applause. Yay!

Oh yea before you get on with your blogging, let me introduce you to the latest member of our family. Her name is Lizzie Jane but.... I call her Pooty-Poo. You got it, she has earned that name. Next time I'll try to get a photo of her looking at the camera.

Well blog buddies, I just want to say thanks for dropping in and checking on me from time to time. I've got tons of WIPS in the Studio and as I complete them I'll be sharing. So come back soon and be inspired to  CREATE-SHARE-REPEAT! ( not sure who said this but sounds good to me) See Ya!

Fall Is Coming YAY!!!!

We are fast approaching my favorite time of year. So today as I was completing a few wips, (works in progress) look who stumbled in! I was so glad to see Mr. Scarecrow that I've invited him to join me in my Gallery for the Fall Season. I think he will add quite a presence in the place while encouraging shoppers to drop in on Booth # 11 for some great finds. Can't wait to take him there to see how the shoppers respond to  his awesomness.

I'll let ya'll know how things go. Until then take a peek at the newest addition created in Studio-B.

Cute little Pink & Zebra Set, would be great for  a fun decor piece in any room.

Well, until next time, happy creating to all of you. I'll be posting again very soon cuz there are many projects awaiting me. Toodaloo!

The Creative Flame

More Fuel for the Creative Flame

Man, I'm on fire. I read art books, watch video tutes, constantly thinking of ...what can I make next'? And art supplies? Oh don't even go there! A time in my life I would spend all my extra cash on clothes and shoes. Not anymore. Give me paint... ink....canvas...glue sticks....mod podge....and give it to me NOW!   I'm a creative junkie I just know I am! BUT... that's perfectly OKAY!  Being creative is a gift that God has given ALL of us. Only some, choose not to tap into it.  I, for one, haven't tapped, I'm diving in, head first. YAY!  And I'm so glad to have a bunch of blog buddies who stop by and visit. Cuz, without a doubt....you understand me. ( smiley face)
Creativity in action is  constructive energy released into the atmosphere. Thats it! Think of it this way.....BE CONSTRUCTIVE...NOT DISTRUCTIVE! Humph! I think I'm a poet now!  Alright enough is enough! BLAH..BLAH...BLAH!  Well that's what this is for right?

So here we go!

Tons of fun in my sewing room over the past few days just trying to use up some of my scraps. Stuffies, pillows and more! I can't stop myself ! YIPPEE~!!!!
I think I'll name this one

"Sista Polkie-Dot'

Another revamp from Studio -B. Not sure of the color on this one so I'm contemplating a
re-do...re-do!  (lol)

Here is a short list things I'm wanting to check out!
1. Mono Printing
2. Sludge ( gesso and extender)
3. Model Majic
4. Rigid Wrap

Also...a great inspirational  blog to visit is "Sue Pellitier". This artist is awesome. I love the freedom she expresses in her art. She is also on the cover of Cloth Paper Scissors a lot. And this is a magazine that I love -love- love. OH! and she is also in Somerset Studio! YAY! No wonder she's so awesome. If your looking for some Go-juice, check it out I know  you won't be dissapointed.
I hope all of you are having an art-filled day. AND.....I really hope High Gloss Gertrude is adding a little fuel to your creative flame.

Furniture Revamps

I promised to blog about my most recent revamps so ladies and gentlemen here they are! I've always wanted one of these and while yard sale-ing I ran across this old beat up thing. (not sure wht it's called ) Anyway I was so excited cuz I could actually see the potential to be something great so I loaded it up in the back of J's toyota pick-up and now I love it so much I'm not sure if i'm going to add it to my Booth at the Antique Gallery. I thought it would be nice to be used as a quilt closet. Also, I tried my hand at 'distressing" and I'm really undecided if I like the "old" look but honestly, I'm just so happy it' done and in my home.

BEFORE
AFTER

Now, on the other hand while I was waiting for paint to dry and in between all the rain we've had I conjured up this little quirky guy. So in love with him, gonna make him a woman. I'll be sharing that real soon.

The chair below is another yard sale find that I plan to revamp. The cushion is in the sewing room awaiting my personal touch. Think I'm going to really do something BRIGHT to this. I supposed I'll be finished with it within a few weeks. I know, that's a really long time but hey, I'm busy what can I say? See ya soon!

July Art Journey

I saw this illustration over at "Willowing" and I've been practicing my facial features for a long - long time. I mean a very, VERY, long time. They say practice makes perfect. Still working it out but in the meantime check out their website and join the group.Lots of cool things to do.

This is my favorite! So colorful and inspiring.

Pink is my favorite color and those dots, well, dots rule~

Take a trip to Karrie Evenson's Art blog and try your hand at this big boy! "Coutour drawing then  paint with bold bright colors.

By the light of the silvery moon..............................

These fairy dolls are made of fabric then painted. Sooo much fun to do until ya get to the part where you have to "turn" those little tiny eensy weensy legs and arms arrrgggg!!!!!! Adorable when completed and worth the trouble.

This is the end of our July Journey of Art from Studio -B. I hope you 've enjoyed the tour and will check back often. The studio is cleaned and ready for another round of paint, glitter, glue, and FUN! See ya!

"P" Is For PROJECT!

Oh WOW! Long time no writing. Please forgive......I have, however been very busy. This painting is called....."From Generation To Generation". For some reason it reminds me of a wise, mature woman sharing some great adivice and if this young girlie-girl will heed to her words she will save herself a great deal of pain.

Here is another project I've been working on. Isn't it pretty? Such a sweet little side table. I saw this sitting in someones yard.UGH! It makes me sick to see something so precious out in the rain. There is much potential that is wasted. So...I stopped and asked the owners of the yard, "Hey, you gonna leave that table out here to be ruined?" And you know what they said? "Yep, unless you want it!" I grabbed this baby up, and went to town. So proud!

A client of mine, always searches out the good things and when she  finds something I might can revamp she is so awesome to bring it to me. Thanks Marion. Anyhoo, she brought these Celtic Crosses about a year ago and they sat around doing noghing until one day it hit me. COLOR! GLITTER!YAY!!! They really turned out nice.

I hope you have enjoyed this post and once again I'm sorry I've been away so long. Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to seeing you again. Leave a comment if ya don't mind cuz it makes my day to hear from you. Okay now, get creative, then share it, and then repeat!

Pretty Paintings All In A Row

Just thought I would show-off some of my paintings all in a row. I've had so much fun creating these that I can't wait to do more. I have several in the Studio waiting for my attention however, "time" is NOT on my side.

I especially love the large paintings and if you can see them, I adore my little "Softees".

Well, It's Sunday evening and I've got to run and get ready for Church. I Love CHURCH!  Hey how about this...

These are the things I love:

!. Painting, Crafting, Turning Trash To Treasure,Mentoring Music and Vocals, Preaching, Teaching, Singing, Playing my Awesome Keyboard, and Leading Women to they're greatest potential in serving the Lord Jesus Christ.

Well, that about sums me up for today. I'm glad  to know so many of you are dropping in. Come anytime. Be blessed and I'll see you in a bit!

Another Dumpster Dive

A good friend of mine called and said...Found you a new project! ( as if I didn't have enough going) When I saw this piece of work I almost turned round and ran! It gave me the creeps to touch it! I used a carpet knife to cut the old fabric away and underneath looked pretty good. Couldn't help myself, had to do it. Isn't it gorgeous? It's amazing what a little elbow grease can do.
Stepped out on the porch today and Hubby said.... hey, I got something for you. I looked in the back of his truck and guess what? That's right. Another dumpster dive. I'll share it with you when I get it done. Take a look at the before and after of this one.

Outdoor Market

OUTDOOR MARKET - ALYSIS ANTIQUE DEPOT

Had a great time at the Outdoor Market yesterday. This was the first time I'd done this one before. It was like the Interstate Fair. People were everywhere. Needless to say I did great in sales, and was so encouraged to keep on keeping on! Made tons of great connections and was able to spend quality time with my friend and partner in,well, almost every fun thing, Amanda. She had the booth next to mine. Still needing to move some merchandise cuz there's more creativity whipping up inside of me just screaming to get out!
I hope all of you crafty peeps are enjoying this beautiful Spring weather (or at least in Florida it's Spring)
Gonna get back to the Studio soon and I'll keep you updated on what's going on ! Be blessed and remember, God has a plan and purpose for your life.

Fashion Revamp Champ

LOOK! What I've been up to! I'm so excited. I've gained so mch weight and all of my clothes are too small, I'm retired which means "budget", so....I am now the FASHION REVAMP CHAMP! Check this out ...................

It all began with a 12 year old skirt that I NEVER wear.

And a bright springy top with stains on the front ... bout to go in the garbage. Goodwill wouldn't want that thing!

I started chopping the skirt off, then chopped the bottom of the shirt off, sewed it together, added some length to the sleeves and guess what?

I'm gonna put this beautful tunic with some black pants and awesome jewelry and wear it to church on Sunday. Praise the Lord!

This began as a mans, long sleeve turtle necek t-shirt. Chop-Chop-Chop! Cut a V-neck, made 3/4 length sleeves, gathered some strips of knit fabric for floweretts, used some left-over buttons for the center, and guess what? That's right, I wore it yesterday to a friends birthday party YAY!

I love ,love this one. Found this at Goodwill store for $4.00. Again. oversized men's shirt with collar and button down with cuffs. Chop-Chop, off went the cuffs, buttons, collar and sleeves. On went vintage trims and lace. Ma-velus Da-ling! Humm... maybe I'll pair this with some black pinstripe slacks and wear this to church on Sunday. Oh my, so much fun, humm.. maybe my sweetie will take me someplace special so I can get all dazzled up in my new duds. I'll let ya know!

Now, this is absolutely my fave -o-rite! Found this shrug tucked way back in the dark side of my closet. Been there forever! Seriously. The matching tank was way too small and too short, and the solid green part of this duo, was another hand-me-down that well, I couldn't really enjoy because it was so HOT! So once again, 'from the dark' side". CHOP CHOP CHOP . I can't wait to wear this. I'm not kidding ya'll, this is soooo much fun. Chopping, and slitting, and pokeing, and just plain, using up some of my fabric stash.  I would love to hear some of your revamp stories. Gotta go, SEW! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Bunny Brigade

I know, I have been quiet these past few weeks but like all of you I have been so busy. In the meantime I have been working on a few cuties for Easter and I'm ready now to unveil. First let me explain, I love love love paper mache and normally it isn't hard to do, it's easy to work with, and the results always turn out good. No matter what! Now, I'm not a professional, or nuttin like that but just because I love the medium I feel it's okay to share my little stuff with you. So if you'll join me in ooh's and ahh's I will introduce you to Miss Bunny Bling-um. Isn't she doing a mavelus job dancing?

While Bunny Bling-um is entertaining on center stage waltz on over to the concession stand for some of Chef Ratz, famous Swiss Cheese Sougle' (huh?)

And as always at our beautiful Florida resort Beach Bunny is up to his old tricks of hiding Easter eggs on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. (His eyes look like he'sbeen  hiding something else too don't ya think?

Together this adorable trio makes Studio B a fun and exciting place to hang out. Come join me anytime for some Paper Mache' Fun in the Sun.

So, now that Easter is on it's way, I think I'm going to get ready for some spring sewing. I can't wait to share with you what's whipping up. I've got big plans to move my sewing stuff into the house instead of leaving it in the Studio. Sometimes I get awfully lonely out  there. It's okay for messy stuff, but sewing should be relaxing. My plan is this; Paint bonus rom Strawberry Pink (yay) Make some Zebra print curtains, Zebra, ironing board cover , create an inspiration board,  and what ever else comes to mind. Hope all of you are having a beautiful March and if the Lord don't come, and the creek don't rise, I'll be back. C Ya!
